Frequently Asked Questions:
KTP Laser

The KTP (Potassium titanyl-phosphate) laser emits a brilliant green light at 532 nm, allowing it to target blood vessels on the face, redness from rosacea and brown spots (sun spots) without damaging the surrounding tissue. It can make a dramatic improvement in the appearance of redness, vessels or brown spots in just 1 or 2 treatments.

The lasers cause a short stinging sensation in the skin. This may feel like being flicked with an elastic band or plucking a hair. This will make the area treated more noticeable for seven to ten days. The KTP laser does not cause bruising but the treated area may be slightly red, like mild sunburn. This effect lasts for one to three days. The KTP laser uses a cooling device to reduce the discomfort. Most people can tolerate the treatment without any anaesthetic. However, local anaesthetic cream or injection is available if you prefer.
